How to Reset an Email Account Password
If you need to change your email account password, Vivint Host offers two secure methods: through your Client Dashboard or directly via Webmail.
Important: Before starting the process, ensure you're logged out of Webmail and any mail clients where your email is connected. Leaving an active session open may cause the password reset to fail.
Password Guidelines for Better Security
To keep your email account secure, follow these password requirements:
- Must be at least 8 characters long
- Must include at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, and 1 number
- Avoid using spaces or the characters: \, &, +, '
- Allowed symbols: [a-zA-Z0-9#!@$%^*()_="?.,/;:<>{|}~-[]]`
We highly recommend using a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols to strengthen your password.
Method 1: Reset Password via Vivint Host Dashboard
- Log in to your Vivint Host account.
- From the left-hand navigation, click on Email Hosting.
- Locate your subscription and click Manage next to the relevant email plan.
- In the mailbox list, find the email address you wish to update. Click the Edit Storage dropdown and choose Change Password.
- You’ll now see a password update form. Enter the following:
> New Password: Your desired secure password
> Confirm Password: Re-type the password to confirm
> Vivint Host Account Password: For verification, enter the password you use to log into your Vivint Host account
Note: Your Vivint Host account password and your mailbox password are separate.
- Click Save Changes. Your new password will take effect immediately.
Method 2: Reset Password via Webmail
You can also change your email password directly through Webmail. Here’s how:
- Open your browser and go to: webmail.vivinthost.com
- Log in to your mailbox using your existing email credentials.
- Click on the System Menu (usually located in the top-right corner), then go to Settings.
- From the sidebar, choose Basic Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and click on the Change Password button.
- A password change pop-up will appear. Fill in the required fields:
> Current Password
> New Password
> Confirm New Password
- Click Change Password and Sign Out to apply changes.
Your session will end and you can log back in using the updated password.
