Website Migration Policies at Vivint Host
1. Web Hosting Migration
- Shared Hosting customers (Starter Cloud, Plus Cloud, Extra Cloud, and Business Cloud plans) receive one (1) free website migration within the first 30 days of signing up.
- If you’re migrating from a cPanel-based host, we’ll transfer your entire account—including emails, databases, and files-as long as we can obtain a full, uncorrupted cPanel backup.
- For non-cPanel hosts, we’ll migrate your website files and one (1) database.
- Accounts larger than 8GB (compressed) do not qualify for free migration.
- Our migration service operates on a “best effort” basis-we’ll handle everything we can, but some cases may require additional support.
If your migration requires extra work (custom setups, large-scale transfers, etc.), we may charge a fee based on complexity. Submit a request, and our team will assess your needs.
3. VPS & Dedicated Hosting Migration
- VPS & Cloud Dedicated customers enjoy free WHM-to-WHM migrations if you have root access to your source server.
- If root access isn’t available, you’ll receive twenty (20) free cPanel migrations (max 8GB per account) within 30 days of signup.
- Beyond 20 accounts? A migration fee may apply.
Requirements of Website MIgration to Vivint Host
You qualify for a free website migration if:
- Your site is currently hosted with a provider other than Vivint Host.
- Your website runs on an open-source CMS (like WordPress, Joomla, or similar).
- Your Vivint Host plan has enough resources to support your website.
- Your website follows our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy (no prohibited content).
