Whether you're coming from a traditional cPanel host or a custom environment, this guide outlines everything you need to know about how we handle migrations at Vivint Host.
Website Migration Policies at Vivint Host
To make sure your move is seamless, we’ve tailored our migration policy based on the type of hosting plan you've selected.
Cloud Web Hosting Plans
If you’re using one of our shared hosting plans-Starter, Plus, Turbo, or Business Cloud-you’re entitled to one complimentary website migration within the first 30 days of signing up.
Here’s how it works:
- Coming from a cPanel Host: If you provide a complete cPanel backup from your previous hosting provider, we’ll restore your entire account-this includes your files, databases, emails, and settings.
- Non-cPanel Host: If your current provider doesn’t use cPanel or you don’t have a complete backup, we’ll still move your website files and one database for free.
- Account Size Limits: Complimentary migrations apply to accounts up to 8GB compressed. Larger accounts may not qualify under the free policy.
- Effort-Based Support: Our free migration service is provided on a best-effort basis. While we aim for perfection, certain configurations may require additional time or adjustments.
Cloud VPS & Dedicated Hosting Plans
Customers on our VPS Hosting or Cloud Dedicated Server plans receive WHM-to-WHM migrations at no cost-if root access is available on the source server.
Don’t have root access? No problem.
We offer:
- Up to 20 free cPanel-to-cPanel migrations
- Account size limit of 8GB per migration
- Applies within 30 days of your initial order
Note: If you're migrating more than 20 cPanel accounts, or if your current host doesn't use cPanel, a migration fee may apply. In such cases, our team will review your setup and inform you of any additional costs before proceeding.
Some migrations may fall outside the scope of our complimentary service. For instance, if your setup requires a special configuration or manual intervention, we’ll assess the complexity and let you know if additional fees apply. Rest assured, our goal is to keep your transition as smooth and transparent as possible.
How to Request Your Migration
Follow these simple steps to begin your migration to Vivint Host:
Step 1: Log in to Your Vivint Host Account
Go to the Vivint Host Client Portal and log in using your credentials.
Step 2: Fill Out the Migration Form
Complete the Migration Request Form. Submit one form for each domain or website you want to transfer. Please include correct login details from your old hosting provider.
Step 3: Wait for the Migration
Once we receive your request, our migration team will begin the process. Most transfers are completed within 24 to 48 hours, sometimes even faster.
Step 4: That’s It - You’re Live on Vivint Host
After the migration is complete, we’ll send you a confirmation. You can now start using your website on Vivint Host.
