How to Reset a cPanel Email Account Password

Forgetting your email password happens and sometimes, updating it is simply part of keeping your accounts secure. Whether you’ve lost access or want to create a stronger password, Vivint Host makes it simple to reset your cPanel email credentials.

Follow the steps below to change your email password through your cPanel dashboard.

Step 1: Log into Your cPanel Account

Start by accessing your cPanel account. Use the login details provided when your hosting service was set up. Once logged in, locate and click on “Email Accounts” under the Email section.

Refer to the image below for guidance on where to find this option.

Step 2: Locate the Email Account You Want to Modify

Scroll through the list of email accounts until you find the one you want to update. Click on the “Manage” button next to that specific account.

This will open the settings page for that email address.

Step 3: Update Your Password

In the "Manage" section, you’ll see the option to set a new password.
You can:

  • Type in a strong new password manually, or
  • Click on “Generate” to let the system create a secure, random password for you.

Tip: For maximum security, use a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid common or guessable passwords.

Once you’ve entered or generated your password, scroll down and click “Update Email Settings” or “Save” to confirm the change.

You're All Set!

Your email password has now been successfully updated. You can use the new password to log into your webmail or configure your email client.

If you run into any issues, our Vivint Host support team is available 24/7 to assist you. Your security and performance are always our top priorities.
